Sussex Heritage Trust Award Winner 2021

Updated: Dec 6, 2024

Coneyhurst, a Grade II listed building project with the main objective to sympathetically refurbish the existing 16th century heritage asset and to build a 21st century extension to help meet the requirements of family living.

We were pleased to learn that our design for the contemporary extension was awarded the Small Residential Award at the Sussex Heritage Trust Awards 2021.

Employing our 'Integrated Approach' to architecture and planning, which incorporates the principles of Constructive Conservation and an evidence-based method, Douglas Briggs Partnership crafted the design and secured Planning and Listed Building Consent for a significant 'linked extension.'

This extension offers a modern kitchen living area and guest accommodation for the residents, featuring an articulated cumbrian slate roof design that compliments the Horsham stone roof of the 16th century timber-framed house without overshadowing its historical structure and significance.

We are pleased to have our work recognised, reaffirming our Integrated Architecture and Town Planning approach that has prooved successful in achieving solutions for our clients objectives.
